Deane Constructions (NSW) Pty Ltd - A Legacy of Excellence in Construction

The story of Deane Constructions (NSW) Pty Ltd is rooted in a rich family heritage, beginning with Grant Deane's grandfather, James Deane, who first established a reputation in the residential housing sector. James was later joined by his son, Ron Deane, and together they operated as J Deane & Son for over 15 years, building a strong foundation in the construction industry.

Following James’s retirement, the business expanded into the commercial and industrial sectors. Ron Deane, alongside Bill Hughes, founded Hughes & Deane Builders Pty Ltd, specialising in commercial construction and public works, including civil engineering projects. This partnership continued successfully for around a decade, until Bill's retirement in 1988.

In the wake of this, R&L Deane Builders was established by Ron Deane to better reflect the company's evolving role in the heavy industry, commercial, and local government sectors across the Illawarra region. In 1999, management of the business was passed to Grant Deane, continuing the legacy of excellence.

As part of a long-term succession plan, Deane Constructions (NSW) Pty Ltd was formed in 2004, now serving as the operating entity for all our construction projects. Today, the company continues to build on its solid foundation of expertise and tradition, delivering quality and innovative solutions to clients across a variety of sectors.

Deane Constructions is composed of highly qualified builders and construction managers, each bringing decades of knowledge and experience to the table. For over 50 years, we have built a reputation for excellence, offering services across the retail, medical, education, and commercial sectors. Our headquarters, based in the Illawarra, serves as a hub for projects across Wollongong, Sydney, the Southern Tablelands, and the South Coast.
